2010 Hazardous Area Seminars:
Because of the delay of the release of the Electricity Regulations we have now moved the date of the seminars back to May/June 2010. Confirmed dates will be posted on this site as soon as they become available and those who register now will be contacted directly. Venues will be confirmed based on numbers registering so please register early.
The intent is that we cover:
· The new Electricity Regulations or what the plan is for them;
· The new Joint AS/NZS Standards published in the past few months and what they bring (AS/NZS 60079.14, 17 & 10.1);
· What is happening in respect to various standards such as those relating to Refrigeration systems and Vehicles used in hazardous areas;
· Application of EPL’s;
· Use of Gas Detectors;
· Area Classification Issues;
· Examples of Issues seen in the industry will be put to the sessions and then a discussion held about how they needed to be dealt with;
· Various Earthing and Bonding Requirements;
· Note: Content will cover all Hazardous Areas but will be targeted to those attending.
We are looking at holding the sessions in Tauranga, Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
These sessions will take a day and all those attending are encouraged to be interactive to ensure a great day. As part of these events we are looking at getting various suppliers along to be able to give advice and answer questions on their products over the breaks.
At this time we do not have any fixed cost of attending but it should be similar to the last ones held by the ESO at between $200-300 per person. We are also prepared to do inhouse sessions for groups who organise everything and cover our out of pocket expenses for a fixed price.
If anyone is interested please contact Colin Murphy by email Colin@thecore-safety.com.
